The Doctor Foundation offers many community services, including and especially medical care. The Polyclinic on the premises provides medical consultation and free generic medicines. More serious cases are referred to government hospitals for further management and admission. The Foundation has also partnered with renowned laboratories for subsidised lab testing. The services offered by The Doctor Foundation are listed below.
The Doctor Foundation organises monthly health camps in the community, covering a wide range of medical and other issues. People are educated, counselled and treated for various conditions - ranging from general medical check-ups to lectures by Physiotherapist and Dietician. Follow-up appointments are then scheduled at the polyclinic for the patients that require further treatment. These camps have been a big hit, and the Foundation is now considering increasing the frequency to two camps a month, and expanding to various other specialities.
The doctors and staff at The Doctor Foundation are committed to bettering the lives of the community members. And when the community members are too weak or old to visit the Centre, the Foundation organises home visits, at no extra cost. This is a crucial aspect of the service, since the Foundation’s primary aim is to help the elderly, who are often too infirm to travel, even short distances.
The Doctor Foundation conducts academic teaching classes at the Centre, for people of all ages. English speaking classes are held three times a week for children and adults, while academic tuition classes are held for school children every day. Aside from education, The Doctor Foundation holds vocational training classes for skills like sewing and mehendi.
